Il est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du ch\u00e2teau (pr\u00e8s de Stamford\/Peterborough, au Nord de Londres et \u00e0 250km\/2h15 de la sortie du \u00ab\u00a0tunnel channel\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e8s de Folkestone), construit pour William Cecil, 1<sup>er<\/sup> baron Burghley, qui \u00e9tait Lord tr\u00e9sorier de la reine Elisabeth 1\u00e8re, entre 1558 et 1587.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Parmi les multiples vainqueurs (une all\u00e9e leur y est consacr\u00e9e, bel honneur) on peut citer ceux qui ont obtenu 5 victoires: Virginia Leng\/Holgate, Andrew Nicholson, William Fox-Pitt, et Mark Todd.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 sport:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Nous y \u00e9tions, le samedi 02 Septembre pour le cross, et le dimanche 03 pour la finale du CSO. Apr\u00e8s 11 visites \u00e0 Badminton nous sommes revenus ici pour la 3\u00e8me fois sur ce site majeur du CCE. Et il faut le reconna\u00eetre encore une fois, <strong>Burghley n\u2019a pas \u00e0 rougir de la comparaison.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>La partie Cross Test comporte 34 obstacles de cross (48 sauts) sur 6450m en 11 minutes 20 environ. Superbe terrain assez vallonn\u00e9. De l\u2019avis des sp\u00e9cialistes, le chef de piste depuis 25 ans (Captain Mark Phillips, excusez du peu\u2026), y concocte des obstacles costauds et l\u00e0 il a mis le paquet sur certains oxers ou des combinaisons o\u00f9 il ne fallait pas \u00eatre timide&#8230; Sous un beau soleil, ce fut superbe !<\/li>\n<li>La visite v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire du dimanche matin (\u00e0 9h00) \u00e0 lieu sur le stade pour pouvoir accueillir les nombreux spectateurs matinaux, et c\u2019est un grand moment !<\/li>\n<li>Les grosses pointures (Jung, Nicholson, Todd, Tapner ou Zara et notre Pascal pourtant bien parti&#8230;) ayant abandonn\u00e9 ou hors de port\u00e9e, ce sont les \u00ab\u00a0Anglais\u00a0\u00bb qui mettent tout le monde d&rsquo;accord avec les 4 premi\u00e8res places (de l&rsquo;in\u00e9dit&#8230;): <strong>Oliver Townend<\/strong> en t\u00eate, puis Piggy French, Gemma Tattersall, et le jeune Tom McEwen, au terme de belles prestations d&rsquo;un CSO assez d\u00e9licat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 coulisses:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>C\u2019est encore et toujours en petit groupe (4 personnes-1 voiture) que nous y allons, via le shuttle d\u2019Euro-tunnel. Logement au <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daysinn.com\/hotels\/united-kingdom\/peterborough\/days-inn-peterborough\/hotel-overview?partner_id=&amp;hotel_id=34214&amp;campaign_code=&amp;propId=DI34214&amp;brand_id=DI&amp;checkout_date=&amp;modify=false&amp;useWRPoints=false&amp;children=0&amp;corporate_id=&amp;ratePlan=&amp;teens=0&amp;affiliate_id=&amp;altPropId=34214&amp;brand_code=BH%2CDI%2CRA%2CBU%2CHJ%2CKG%2CMT%2CSE%2CTL%2CWG%2CWY%2CWT%2CWP&amp;iata=&amp;rate_code=&amp;adults=1&amp;checkin_date=&amp;rooms=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Days Inn sur la A1M<\/a> (15km au Sud du site et pr\u00e8s de Peterborough). Le village d\u2019exposants apporte toujours sa touche d\u2019exotisme.
