Il est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du ch\u00e2teau (pr\u00e8s de Stamford\/Peterborough, au Nord de Londres et \u00e0 250km\/2h15 de la sortie du \u00ab\u00a0tunnel channel\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e8s de Folkestone), construit pour William Cecil, 1<sup>er<\/sup> baron Burghley, qui \u00e9tait Lord tr\u00e9sorier de la reine Elisabeth 1\u00e8re, entre 1558 et 1587.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Parmi les multiples vainqueurs on peut citer ceux qui ont obtenu 5 victoires: Virginia Leng\/Holgate, Andrew Nicholson, William Fox-Pitt, et Mark Todd.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 sport:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Nous y allons pour la premi\u00e8re fois, le samedi 05 Septembre pour le cross, et le dimanche 06 pour la finale du CSO. Apr\u00e8s 10 visites \u00e0 Badminton nous voulons d\u00e9couvrir ce 2\u00e8me site majeur du CCE. Et il faut le reconna\u00eetre, <strong>Burghley n&rsquo;a pas \u00e0 rougir de la comparaison.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>La partie Cross Test comporte environ 31 obstacles de cross (48 sauts) sur 6370m en 11 minutes 10 environ. Superbe terrain assez vallonn\u00e9. De l&rsquo;avis des sp\u00e9cialistes, le chef de piste (Captain Mark Phillips, excusez du peu&#8230;), en plus d&rsquo;inverser le sens habituel, a concoct\u00e9 des obstacles costauds. Rentrer dans le \u00ab\u00a0maxi\u00a0\u00bb fut presque impossible (sauf 2 couples), mais aucun incident notoire.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>La visite v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire du dimanche matin (\u00e0 9h00) \u00e0 lieu sur le stade pour pouvoir accueillir les nombreux spectateurs matinaux, et c&rsquo;est un grand moment !<\/li>\n<li>Le dernier, et triple vainqueur cons\u00e9cutivement est Andrew Nicholson sur le m\u00eame cheval Avebury. Bless\u00e9 sur chute le 10\/08 \u00e0 Gatcombe, il a d\u00fb d\u00e9clarer forfait.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>C&rsquo;est le multi-m\u00e9daill\u00e9 Allemand <strong>Michael Jung<\/strong> et son fid\u00e8le<strong> Sam<\/strong> qui l&#8217;emportent apr\u00e8s un brillant sans faute au CSO et 1,5 petits points d&rsquo;avance sur <strong>Tim Prince<\/strong>\/NZL suivi de <strong>Christopher Burton<\/strong>\/AUS avec ses 2 chevaux, en 5\/6 Jonelle Price\/NZL et Mark Todd\/NZL, et en N\u00b07 notre <strong>Cedric Lyard<\/strong> avec Cadeau du Roi, devant la 1\u00e8re Anglaise Tina Cook. <strong>Pascal Leroy et Rodolphe Scherer<\/strong> se placent honorablement en 17 et 24.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 coulisses:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>C\u2019est encore et toujours en petit groupe (3 personnes-1 voiture) que nous y sommes all\u00e9s, via le shuttle d\u2019Euro-tunnel. Logement au <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daysinn.com\/hotels\/united-kingdom\/peterborough\/days-inn-peterborough\/hotel-overview?partner_id=&amp;hotel_id=34214&amp;campaign_code=&amp;propId=DI34214&amp;brand_id=DI&amp;checkout_date=&amp;modify=false&amp;useWRPoints=false&amp;children=0&amp;corporate_id=&amp;ratePlan=&amp;teens=0&amp;affiliate_id=&amp;altPropId=34214&amp;brand_code=BH%2CDI%2CRA%2CBU%2CHJ%2CKG%2CMT%2CSE%2CTL%2CWG%2CWY%2CWT%2CWP&amp;iata=&amp;rate_code=&amp;adults=1&amp;checkin_date=&amp;rooms=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Days Inn sur la A1M<\/a> (15km au Sud du site et pr\u00e8s de Peterborough). Le village d&rsquo;exposants apporte toujours sa touche d&rsquo;exotisme.
